Most of our inspiration comes from the real railroad, and we don't need much of an excuse to head out for a few days of photos and fellowship. Regular trips to the real Feather River Canyon have yielded a library of photos that we keep in envelopes under each city or scene on the layout for reference. These have proven invaluable to getting a particular scene to look correct. Other railfanning trips have included Canada's Fraser River Canyon and Idaho's 'Funnel'. Here are some photos we managed to take between all the jokes and camaraderie.
